Jan-5-04. I have just found your program STORM very useful for running ProtParam on large numbers of sequences. In order to extract the numbers from the text files output by the "Data summary" feature, I wrote a Perlprogram which produces a tab-delimited text file output.(in my opinion it is much more useful to have the numbers in one delimited text file, rather than hundreds of individual text files).--Nick Matzke--

I'm glad people find STORM useful. The Perl script Nick wrote can be downloaded here.

I should note however, that the data summary format presented in the perl-script, can largely be achieved in Microsoft Access. None the less, avid perl users will probably enjoy this approach. These sorts of scripts are always more than welcome.

What to do when errors occur during installation?

The occurence of potential errors during installation in dependent on the user's PC system. However, by simply ignoring these errors (if indeed they occur) STORM will still be installed correctly.

Can the produced database be saved in other formats than a Microsoft Access Database file?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. Files can only be saved in the mdb-format. However, Microsoft Acces does not have to be installed in order for STORM to work. Data managment can be achieved directly in STORM.
