Transport facilities

By train:

  • train schedule on http://plannerint.b-rail.be/
  • Price one way train ticket (Brussels-Leuven) = 4 EURO
  • Arrival in Brussels National Airport (Zaventem): there is a direct train to Leuven every 1/2h (travel time: ± 15 minutes).
  • Arrival in Charleroi (South) Airport: coach transfer to Brussels midi (details see http://www.charleroi-airport.com/)
  • Arrival in Brussels midi (train): take the train in Brussels midi (direct train to Leuven)
  • BE WARE NOT TO TAKE A TRAIN TO LOUVAIN-LA-NEUVE BUT TO LEUVEN
  • At Leuven railway station, take bus line “2 CAMPUS”, leaving every 15 minutes. Get off the bus at “Heverlee Kantineplein” situated at the junction between the Engelbertlaan and the J. Vandenbemptlaan. You can see now the Castle in front of you.

By taxi:

The price from the airport to Leuven is ± 65 Euro, from Brussels midi (arrivals Eurostar) to Leuven it is ± 75 Euro.

Coming by car from Brussels or Liège/Luik

Take highway E40 (Brussels - Liège/Luik) direction Leuven. Take exit Leuven/Hasselt/Genk and follow direction Leuven. Now you are at the Koning Boudewijnlaan. At the second traffic lights you turn right (direction K.U.Leuven, campus Arenberg). You are now in the Celestijnenlaan.
There you drive about 1 km and then you pass the river "de Dijle". Once you passed the bridge you immediately turn left into Kasteelpark Arenberg. Follow the river till you see the castle. You will see a parking lot on your right
