  • Free researcher and later PhD student at KU Leuven supported by the SOROS FOUNDATION and KU leuven (09/1995-1999)
  • Obtained a PhD degree in Applied Biological Sciences at the KU Leuven 22 December 1999.
  • Postdoctoral Fellow at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven since 1 March 2000.

  • Computer vision and digital image processing in agriculture
  • Description of the shape and shape changes of agricultural and food products
  • Finite element modelling of heat transfer and vibration of agricultural products
  • Automatic geometrical model and finite element mesh generation
  • Postharvest technology: Quality measurements of fruits by vibration techniques (measurement simulation by Finite Element Method)
